Public Records Requests

The Gilbertown Police Department will make a public-records request form available on this website. A completed form may be printed, completed, and brought to the Gilbertown Police Department for review.

Each request will be reviewed before records are released. Records may be released when permitted by law and when the requested records are available. Some records may be withheld, redacted, or unavailable because of legal exemptions, privacy considerations, investigative status, or other lawful reasons. If records can be released, the department will provide them through the method requested when reasonably possible.

Accident Reports

Accident-report requests may currently be made using the department’s records-request process. A separate online accident-report request resource is planned for the future. When available, a link and instructions will be posted on this website.

Commendations and Complaints

The Gilbertown Police Department welcomes commendations regarding professional service and takes complaints seriously. Forms will be available on this website for printing and completion. Completed forms may be brought to the department office for review and processing.

A commendation or complaint form is not for emergency reporting. For an emergency or crime in progress, call 911.

Vacation Watch Requests

The Gilbertown Police Department offers vacation-watch requests for residents within the department’s service area. A request form will be available for printing and completion. Please submit the completed form to the department before leaving town whenever possible.

Residents are asked to notify the department when they have returned home so the request can be closed. Vacation-watch requests do not guarantee continuous surveillance or prevent criminal activity. Residents should secure their homes, arrange for mail and package collection, and report suspicious activity by calling the appropriate dispatch number.

Employment and Volunteer Information

Applications for employment and volunteer opportunities are available at the Gilbertown Police Department office. Applications may be obtained and submitted in person.

The availability of an application does not mean that a position is currently open. Employment opportunities and application deadlines will be posted when applicable.
